STALKING THE OTHERS isn't my favorite of the series either but this series is certainly well worth reading.Shia or Shiarra as she is known is sometimes a whiny, angry angst driven person, constantly screwing up
and making hurtful assumptions about Royce (he's a monster, he's a cold-blooded manipulater, he's a vampire -
all of which is true, but he never once tries to be anything but a good friend to her and she disses him at every turn). Shia is angry about Chaz's infidelity (her ex) through most of the book - but why she wants to utterly destroy him and his entire pack is never quite clear. Royce also does not seem to have much of a part in this book until the end - I'd like to see their relationship develop a little more. Royce and Shiarra FINALLY progress in their "relationship" towards the end of the book and there is tons of action going on (sometimes it is
hard to keep up), but the book moves quickly and keeps your interest.
I also recommend reading the first three books in the series before jumping into this one and remember that this book is not as good as the others - but still worth reading. Jess Haines will continue to be a must buy author for my bookshelf.

I loved how these Novels keep surprising me. This book was delicious, the only problem I have is I have to wait for the next novel. This book has left me wanting more
I did enjoy the book, though I found a few too many loose ends for 5 stars, I found at the end of the book I was scratching my head trying to figure out just what had happened though no doubt some of it will be explained in the next book.
I had read the previous books and they were GREAT! This book took a turn toward the dark and depressing side as well as too my sex with the vampire. I was disappointed. I won't ready the next book. Too bad it was a good story but got lost after book 3.
I enjoyed reading this book. Just wished Shia could have been strong enough to walk away from Chaz without driving herself crazy in the process! She was getting to be a little to whiney and pathetic.
I have enjoyed this series. Some of the books are much better than others, but over all each is entertaining.
There was a lot of good story progression in this book- and I really enjoyed the revenge angle. I read this back-to-back with book 3, and I'll probably slide right into book 5 so I can keep with the momentum. There were a few interesting twists in the story, offering fun surprises. Great series so far!
This series has taken quite a turn. Book four takes right up where book 3,(Deceived by the Others),leaves off. Shiarra Waynest has lost nearly everything and is being hunted by vampires, werewolves, and an anti-others group. The police want to question her regarding a murder, and her family has disowned her. She hasn't heard from her business partner and best friend Sara, who is in hiding. To top it all off she is hunting a werewolf pack headed by her lying, cheating, ex-boyfriend Chaz. Hell hath no fury... This novel brings her to a new low depth. Her investigative skills help her track the pack and with the aid of a spelled weapons belt she has super human skills and strength. This story unlike the previous books, has non-stop action. Told in first person, I never feel like it's only her view point.
As with other series I have mentioned, the narrative gets better and better as the books go along. Jess Haines has really worked out an intriguing storyline. I would give this book 4.5 - 5*'s.
